Meet Your Alumni Speakers

Here are just a few of our great alumni who are ready to serve your community:
Michaela Subido

Michaela still holds the GEAR UP record for most scholarships received. She has attended YLS twice as a student leader, is an accomplished playwright, and currently works for a venture group that exclusively funds and helps grow education organizations owned by women and folks of color.

Joseph Granado

Joseph is from the original GEAR UP grant in Midland, Texas. He’s gone on to an impressive career in higher and secondary education, working from MIT in Boston, Chaminade University in Hawaii, to an independent high school in LA. Joseph is a world-traveler and has visited over 35 countries and currently serves as the Dean of Student Life at Midland College.

Isaiah Jones

Isaiah is an alumni from South Carolina and is a veteran of our YLS program. He achieved a law degree from Georgetown and is now working to create an advocacy program that helps young people of color to learn about the law and their rights. Isaiah wants to make the legal professions more accessible and he has the leadership and passion to get it done.

PS- He's got a voice like Al Jarreau (Look it up).

Trail Bundy

Trail is from GEAR UP Montana and is a powerful advocate for indigenous populations in education. He is the director of student life at the University of Montana in Missoula and also has a side hustle doing digital marketing.
