1. Evocation
Most inspiration is evoked spontaneously and unintentionally.
2. Transcendence
Inspiration often causes us to transcend our own needs, our own perspective and moves us to value the greater good.
3. Motivation
The best outcome of inspiration is that it triggers action. It causes a change, a ripple that creates a positive difference.
Reflect on a moment of inspiration in your life and see if these three qualities were present:
- What happened? Was it spontaneous? What evoked you?
- What did this experience cause you to think about? Did it change your mind? Did it open you up to other perspectives?
- Were you inspired enough to take action? What did you do? How did that feel?
You were born to fly.
How can we place more value on "different"?
How do we support youth that learn differently? think differently?
How do we acknowledge students when they contribute value?
Be prepared to be wrong.
What else should we be teaching?
If you could find a way to measure a "soft skill", which one would you prioritize?
How do you spot someone's natural gifts?
Why is it so important to "test"?
Do tests give us an accurate picture of someone's potential?
How can we create equity in the way we test?
Difference makers must work as a team.
Here's the whole session.
