The ColorBlind Activity

 

The ColorBlind activity is remarkably challenging. Communication skills, patience, listening, organization and more all become extremely important. Success in this challenge required the following:

 

Be specific

Information must be highly detailed in order to create an accurate visual in the mind of the listener.

 

Orientation

Everyone has a different perspective on the same matter. This is especially true when various cultural dynamics are in play. Great communicators consider their orientation before talking. They try to relate to another's orientation to make a connection. Start with what you have in common, rather than focusing on what is different.

 

Frequency of Communication

Repeat critical information. Make sure that it is heard before moving on.

 

Listening vs. Waiting to Talk

There is a huge difference between actively listening and just waiting for your turn to talk. Listen with empathy to avoid a communication breakdown.
